![]() There is one trick to make a lot of money that I'll try to remember how it works for you as best I can. At the very least, more engines mean you can warp out and escape fights faster without taking too much damage. There are some wormholes though that will help you get to certain places faster, and I might be wrong on the mechanics but I think more engines on your flagship make it use less fuel. There are certain planets that have a lot of wealth in them though. Most games used to be that hard! Most of the exploration is useless space is empty. Consider playing melee mode to learn how to pilot various ships without messing up your game.īut yeah, the game is hard, I agree. Go to the Spathi homeworld (I believe he gave you directions) and you can build more of his ship. This strategy is good for everything early game except for the Ilwrath, who can usually cloak. ![]() When you're in combat, just keep as far from the other ship as you can, and keep firing your BUTT missile at them. "That guy from Pluto" is actually a pretty good ship that can win you a lot of fights by sticking to it's pilot's philosophy. (I've read through some stuff but it hasn't helped me) This is the best game I've ever hated lol and I REALLY want that to change. I am aware of the different star and planet colours and all of that. Easily 80% of the places I visit are nothing but junk or too dangerous to land on. The exploration in this game is hailed as great but I just don't get it. I can save up and get a new gun or something fitted but I still lose most fights (any I win I take such heavy losses that I often have to return straight to Sol again to re-crew).įinding anything to really get me going seems like it requires either luck, spoilers, or an insane grind of going back and forth from Sol every 10 minutes. I can add a new module if I'm lucky, but only a cheap 500 RU one that doesn't really help me on my next journey. and that's only IF they have that many planets, which a lot don't.īy the time I need to return to Sol 90% of my profits go on replacing the spent fuel and dead crew. ![]() Most planet's with decent mineral deposits are either too hot, or the weather and tectonics damn near insta-destroys my landers, so if a star has, say, 7 planets to check then I'm only reliably getting ANYTHING from 1 or maybe 2 of them, and 9 times out of 10 those are the cheapest minerals that are barely worth the trip. But to get more RU I need to randomly stumble upon a star system that I can handle which I'm finding near impossible. ![]() So I need to upgrade, which means I need more RU. My main problem is that I can't win fights at all with my starting ship + the dude from Pluto. In theory this game has a lot of things I should love. I'm not interested in getting any other versions (I'm not interested in voice acting or anything like that). I'm playing the steam version which is the DOS version I gather. I'm having a miserable time with this game, the various walkthroughs and guides I've read online are no help at all with my issues.
